This is purely a welfare scheme for the benefit of women living under adverse and difficult circumstances with no regular source of income. Under this scheme, an amount of Rs. 2400/- is provided to each beneficiary @ Rs. 200/- per month to destitute women who are widowed, separated, divorced, single or abandoned. Presently, 4165 destitute women across the State are being covered under this programme.
In line with the Government policy, the Department had successfully linked approximately 80 percent of the 4165 beneficiaries’ bank account for Direct Beneficiary Transfer through the Nagaland State Cooperative Bank Lt,.
*Financial Assistance to Destitute Women is subject to fund availability of the Department which are notified in local media from time to time.
