Functions of the Committee:
The functions of the Committee would be to:
- Verify and select beneficiaries under the various schemes, except in the case of the Promotion of Women in Innovative Enterprises Programme where selection of beneficiaries shall be done by the State Level Selection Board;
- Monitor the progress of the schemes;
Powers and Functions of the Committee Executives
Chairperson
- He/she shall convene and chair all meetings.
- He/she shall safeguard the rules and regulations of the Committee so laid down.
- He/she shall have the discretionary power to convene extra ordinary meetings whenever necessary, assisted by Member Secretary who is the Department cadre Officer
Member-Secretary
- He/She shall record all the minutes of every meeting and take attendance of the members present.
- He/She shall keep all records of the Committee and schemes of the Department up to date and produce them whenever the need arises.
Meetings:
- The Committee shall meet quarterly on a fixed date under the Chairpersonship of the Deputy Commissioner/ Representative.
- The Committee shall discuss the progress of various schemes under its jurisdiction and prepare Progress Reports to be forwarded to the Department as per formats enclosed.
Verification and Selection of Beneficiaries:
- The Committee shall verify whether each applicant is eligible as per the criteria set against each scheme;
- Screening and selection of eligible applicants shall be made by the Committee and submit to the Government for final approval
- The Committee shall take care to see that all major indigenous tribal cohabitants in the district are fairly and equitably represented during the selection process.
